Calculator BMR

What is BMR?

BMR stands for Basal Metabolic Rate.

BMR is a measure of how many calories a body needs and how many calories a person needs to consume each day.

How Many Calories Do We Need During the Day?

Using Harris Benedict’s formula, also known as the Harris Benedict Principle, a person’s BMR (basal metabolic rate) and daily caloric needs are calculated. A person’s total BMR is added to another number that indicates a person’s level of physical activity. The number obtained is the recommended daily caloric intake that you should receive to maintain your body weight.

This equation also has limitations. This equation does not take into account the different volume of muscle mass and fat mass – a muscular person needs more calories even when he is resting.

You can also use this BMI calculation widget if you want to calculate your weight, daily calorie intake, or even your child’s BMI.

Using the BMR calculation widget, you can calculate your BMR number and daily calorie intake.
